MANAUS, BRAZIL – Cal-Comp, a subsidiary of New Kinpo Group, said it will open a new factory here.

The electronics manufacturer plans to add a plastic injection production line at the site.

The 3,500 m2 factory, set to start production in March 2016, will produce semiconductor packaging for electronic components.

Cal-Comp will employ 250 operators here, with the number expected to increase to 600 within two years.

The new line allows the facility to produce plastic parts onsite for internal and external hard disks, set-top boxes, motherboards, routers and power suppliers.

In 2016, the plant will also produce flash-memory and SSD products as well.

Cal-Comp is the world's 11th largest EMS company, according to the CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY Top 50.
