HARTLEPOOL, ENGLAND -- Stadium Group announced the acquisition of Cable Power, a developer of computer cables and power supplies.

Stadium will pay £750,000 for the company.

“The acquisition of Cable Power Ltd brings complementary bolt-on supply chain products to our portfolio that enhance our offering, primarily in the power products space," said chief executive Charlie Peppiatt. "There is a great deal of synergy between the product portfolios of our power division Stadium Stontronics and Cable Power, and we work with many of the same customers in the global electronics distribution sector including RS Components, Rapid Electronics, Farnell, CPC and Raspberry Pi.”

“The deal supports our strategy to build a leading design-led electronic technology solutions group with a portfolio of value-adding complementary products and integration capabilities, supported from a global footprint to simplify the supply chain and reduce time to market for our customers.”

Cable Power will join Stadium’s Power division Stadium Stontronics, based at the Group’s Regional Fulfillment Center in Reading, UK.

Stadium also reported record bookings, aided in part by its transition to ODM-type products. Design-led electronics now account for 57% of sales, the company said.

"The group made further significant progress in 2016 with continuing growth in the Technology Products division,” said Peppiatt. “With the order book at new record levels and strategically located design centers, manufacturing centers of excellence and regional fulfillment centers in place to support its delivery, as well as the recent acquisition, we are confident about the outlook for 2017 and beyond."
