VANCOUVER -- Pacific Insight Electronics reported consolidated revenues for its fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31 fell 2.1% from a year ago to C$29.8 million ($22.7 million).

Net income for the period was C$1.75 million, down from C$2.4 million in the year ago quarter.

The EMS company attributed the drop in revenue to lower volume from existing commercial and automotive programs as a result of general market conditions, partially offset by the impact of new program launches.

The company said its primary fiscal 2017 focus is to optimize operational efficiency, productivity, and production capacity and develop new opportunities.
