NIS, SERBIA -- Integrated Micro-Electronics (IMI) has igned an agreement whereby the Serbian government will pay it about $7,300 for each of the more than 1,200 employees it plans to hire at its plant in Nis.

According to published reports, the Serbian government plans to compensate IMI to the tune of 6,800 euros per each of the 1,250 employees IMI plans to hire. IMI is committed to the investment in Nis, the company said in a statement.

As reported by CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY last year, Serbian officials said IMI plans to invest 30 million euros in the new 218,000 sq. ft. site.

IMI is the world's 28th largest EMS, according to the CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY Top 50.
