KUNSHAN, CHINA – Today Foxconn signed an agreement to invest $3.65 billion in new industries here, according to published reports.

Foxconn will invest more than $1.17 billion in the first phase, according to the agreement. Investments include an energy battery R&D center, production base, Internet of Things, and pollution prevention and treatment.

Foxconn has invested $1.7 billion in the region in the past 24 years, reports say.
