ATLANTA, GA – CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY Magazine today announced Firstronic LLC as its EMS Company of the Year for 2017.

The distinction is bestowed annually on EMS companies that have demonstrated profitability and sustained excellence among their peers over a period of years.

Grand Rapids, MI-based Firstronic has experienced a tremendous growth surge that has lasted nearly a decade. Revenue has grown from under $7 million in 2009 to more than $160 million this year. The company further projects growth in excess of 25% in 2018.

The EMS firm attributes its success to a focus on the right customers – and a willingness to walk away from client mismatches – and intense dedication to Kanban processes throughout its operations.

“Firstronic has not only defined what makes a customer a good fit and established a stellar track record of winning those accounts, but it has done so while improving key metrics such as component placements per line and inventory management,” said Mike Buetow, editor-in-chief of CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY, announcing the award.  “It has implemented leading-edge Lean practices that should be studied by every other EMS company.

“For its novel approach and phenomenal run of execution, we are pleased to announce Firstronic as our tenth EMS Company of the Year.”

Firstronic joins AsteelFlash, Creation Technologies, Fabrinet, Jabil, Key Tronic EMS, Kimball Electronics Lightspeed Technologies, Plexus and Venture Corp. in the select group of winners of the CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY EMS Company of the Year.
