TAIPEI – Foxconn and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee are reportedly launching an internship program to send engineering students to the electronics manufacturer’s headquarters here for a semester.

The program is intended to develop local talent for Foxconn’s planned Wisconsin plant that will make LCD panels.

Five students from the university’s College of Engineering and Applied Science will be chosen in the fall to go to Taiwan in February to work on projects through June.

The internship program could be expanded to other colleges in the region, reports say.
