AYR, SCOTLAND -- New research on the European medical electronics market shows ample opportunity for EMS firms to add design, recycling and other related services. 

While more than 90% of assembly and nearly 80% of component procurement is already outsourced, less than half of the system assembly and repair services are currently performed by EMS firms, MHM Business Development Services says.

The researchers added that kitting and inventory management are practically all performed in-house by OEMs, offering another area for potential growth by EMS companies.
