BALTIMORE -- Zentech Manufacturing has acquired Fredericksburg, VA-based Colonial Assembly & Design for an undisclosed sum.

Colonial Assembly & Design is a 30-year-old EMS provider to the US Department of Defense and commercial aviation OEMs.

Zentech said the acquisition provides "tremendous synergy" with its established customer set in the DoD and military C4ISR (Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance) sectors. It also adds enhanced engineering, product design, circuit design, machining, cable assembly and wire harnessing capabilities.

In a statement, Zentech CEO and president Matt Turpin said, "We are extremely excited by the synergies created by this acquisition as Colonial Assembly & Design’s customer set aligns well with our current customers and provides opportunities into new program activity within both the DOD and commercial aviation sectors. Colonial Assembly & Design has an outstanding core team of experienced, tenured and dedicated employees, and it is my pleasure to welcome them to the Zentech team.”

New Spring Mezzanine, the dedicated mezzanine fund of New Spring Capital, provided a combination of mezzanine debt and equity financing to Zentech.
