Swemco: First CM to Gain Int’l RoHS Certification Print E-mail

Moorestown, NJ --Swemco is reportedly the first contract manufacturer to gain compliance under QC 080000, the new international standard for RoHS compliance. 
 
QC 080000, Hazardous Substance Process Management (HSPM), provides for third-party assessment of a company’s RoHS compliance. Swemco has contracted with CMS, a consulting and training firm, for the last four months to aid he implementation.
 
The company has comprehensive program to attack RoHS and WEEE issues including design assistance, manufacturing formulas and ISO 9000 certification. Swemco manufactures Pb-free products for many customers and assists them in the transition of the balance of their products.
 
According to its press release, Swemco is the first CM in the world, the second company in the U.S., and the 12th company in the world to obtain the certification.
