Report: St. Pete Offering $35M to Keep Jabil Print E-mail

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Jabil Circuit is seeking a new manufacturing facility and company headquarters and its home town is considering nearly $35 million in grants and tax breaks to ensure the EMS firm stays put.

In published reports, Jabil said all options -- including relocaton -- are on the table. "We're very happy here but that doesn't mean we shouldn't consider all of our options," spokesperson Beth Walters told a local news site.

Jabil employs some 1,900 employees in the St. Petersburg area.

Should the company remain in St. Petersburg, the city would pony up about $35 million in grants and tax breaks, the report said. The report said Jabil would then build a $52 million campus and add more than 850 employees to its local head count.
