BUFFALO, NYNanoDynamics has opened an online Sample Store (nanodynamics.com/Home/samplestore) to minimize the hassle of evaluating or qualifying its products. Customers can order metal powder samples over the Internet and have them delivered anywhere.

The store will initially offer nanosilver and copper powder lines, with future plans to include nanosized nickel powders, nanoceramic powders and dispersions, carbon nanotubes and nanoclays.

Ranging from 10 to 500 nm, NDSilver powder and flakes are said to be characterized by excellent particle size control and morphology, are stable at elevated temperatures and do not exhibit room temperature sintering. Nanosilver s expected to become an enabling material for applications including plasma display and ink-jet electronics, conductive inks and pastes, electromagnetic shielding, photovoltaic panels, solders and as an antimicrobial additive.

C1-2000 and C1-4000 NDCopper powders are commercially available as non-agglomerating dry powders in sizes from 1 to 4 microns. Characterized by purity and particle size control, oxidation resistance, high crystallinity and high conductivity, reportedly offer excellent rheology and processing characteristics. Useful for electronics applications such as printed conductors, dipped terminations and conductive polymers, but can also be used in other applications that including shielding, antifouling and biocidal.

Custom orders can be taken for copper particles and flakes in sizes as low as 2 nm, as well as for silver particles and flakes in sizes as low as 10 nm.
