Neways Takes Profit Hit on Lower Cap. Utilitzation PDF Print E-mail

SON, THE NETHERLANDS – Neways' net profit fell to EUR 2.2 million in the first half, down from EUR 3.2 million a year ago.

The electronics manufacturing services company reported sales rose 0.6% increase to EUR 144.4 million in the first half, good for an all-time high. Bookings for the period increased EUR 700,000 from the first half of 2011 to EUR 67.8 million.

The company said capacity utilization level at some of its operating companies was low, especially in the second quarter, while other operating companies incurred higher costs to meet high demand. The EMS firm also took charges related to the consolidation of DHV.
