COLLEGE PARK, MDCALCE and Buehler are offering a course on failure analysis of electronics at the University of Maryland Nov. 6 – Nov. 9.

With a combination of classroom instruction, demonstrations, and hands-on laboratory training, this course covers topics ranging from failure mechanisms in electronics to specimen preparation, materials analysis techniques, and analytical tools. Lectures provide practical recommendations with failure analysis case studies.

Lecture topics include failure mechanisms of electronic products; root cause analysis; physics of failure, and failure analysis techniques.

Attendees are eligible to receive 1.6 continuing education units from the University of Maryland.

Each attendee is invited to submit one sample to CALCE at least three weeks before the course starts.

The course fee is $2500. A 20% discount for CALCE consortium members and federal government employees applies.
