| OSI's EMS Sales Rise in September Quarter |

HAWTHORNE, CA -- OSI Systems today reported fiscal first-quarter sales at its Optoelectronics and Manufacturing division rose 7.6% year-over-year to $57.1 million. Operating income was down 2.1% to $4.94 million. The business unit's sales to external customers were up 12% from a year ago as OSI added new customers during the period. For the period ended Sept. 30, the company reported overall revenues of $181.7 million for the quarter, an increase of $20.4 million, or 13%, from the $161.3 million reported a year ago. Net income for the quarter was $6.3 million, compared to net income of $4.8 million for the first quarter fiscal 2012. OSI chairman and CEO Deepak Chopra said, “Our first quarter results reflect continued strong performance. Our success was evident throughout all of OSI as each of our divisions achieved double-digit sales growth, which led to record first quarter profitability.”
