SAN JOSE -- OnCore Manufacturing has promoted Sajjad Malik to president and CEO, replacing Dan Perez, who is retiring.

Perez, who has been in the role since creating OnCore in 2007, will remain with OnCore in an advisory capacity.

Malik most recently was chief operating officer.

The company also announced three growth initiatives. It is expanding its Tijuana, Mexico, operation, adding an 88,100 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility tailored for medical device  customers. Furthermore, the EMS firm is expanding its Fremont, CA, facility to include a medical "Center of Excellence" and a systems build operation. And it is adding design and engineering services to its Longmont, CO, operation.

"The initiatives we have planned are part of our strategy that provides customers with an end-to-end product life cycle service offerings including enhanced engineering services and global supply-chain solutions, all provided through our vertically integrated global manufacturing footprint," Malik said.

OnCore will be announcing details on each of these growth initiatives in the upcoming months.
