PLAYA VISTA, CA -- Belkin will acquire the home networking business unit of Cisco for an undisclosed price, the company said today. The deal, which is expected to close in March, includes the Linksys brand of consumer-based routers.

Belkin said it will continue the Linksys brand. The deal will give Belkin a roughly 30% share of the US home and small-business networking market.

In a statement, CEO Chet Pipkin said Belkin seeks to be “the global leader in the connected home and wireless networking space.”
