WUXI CITY, CHINA -- Jabil reportedly will invest RMB 620 million ($100 million) to build a robot-driven automation equipment plant in Wuxi City, in cooperation with the local government, according to local reports. Jabil currently operates three units in Wuxi City, including Green Point Technology (Wuxi) Co., and employs a reported 60,000 workers. It generated a reported RMB 15 billion ($2.4 billion) in sales from the Wuxi sites last year from customers such as Apple, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and Nokia. Jabil expects to generate $80 million a year from the new plant, the reports said.
