The presentation addresses Pin in Paste (PiP) technology where through hole components are soldered in the SMT process. The PiP process offers several advantages compared to the traditional wave/selective soldering process. The main advantage is the elimination of the wave/selective process and associated capital, handling and processing costs. Manuel’s presentation will discuss process and material considerations in detail.

About the Presenter
Manuel Munguia, Sr. Technical Support Engineer for AIM Solder, is a Certified IPC specialist with over twenty years of experience in the solder assembly materials industry. Manuel supports key corporate accounts in Mexico, Central and South America. Manuel graduated with a broad background of studies in Electronics and Computer Engineering from the Centro de Enseñaza Tecnica Industrial (CETI) in Guadalajara, Mexico. He is also a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. A member of the SMTA, Manuel obtained his SMT Certification as Process Engineer (CSMTPE) in 2016.
