Plymouth, WI — August 2019 — Kurtz Ersa Inc., a leading supplier of electronics production equipment, today announced that Schleifring Medical Systems has purchased an IR 650. The Selective BGA/SMT reflow technology for rework has been installed at Schleifring’s modern 80,000 ft2 environmentally controlled facility that is centrally located in Elgin, IL. Schleifring is a manufacturer specializing in providing complex high-level assemblies to customers requiring precision machining of components.

The system is the second IR 650 installed at Schleifring Medical Systems. “We bought our first machine because our parent company in Germany had one,” Daniel Larson, Electrical Engineer at Schleifring Medical Systems. “We bought our second because of its ease of use, solder performance, and our assembly volume continues to climb. In addition, Kurtz ERSA has been very responsive to help with anything we need, such as troubleshooting and getting spare parts.”

The IR 650 selective reflow module uses Dynamic IR heating technology for fully automatic dynamic control of the top (1,200 W / 60 mm x 120 mm) and bottom (3,200 W / 350 mm x 450 mm) IR heaters. The total available power (4,400 W) to the selective reflow system is spread across four separately controllable heating zones on the top and five zones on the bottom.

Now combined with the enhanced capability to run an extended or flat peak, this revolutionary technology affords the lowest temperature deltas across the component, the highest degree of process safety and greatly reduces PCB warpage.

From rapid prototypes or short runs to production runs, Schleifring Medical Systems has a wider range of manufacturing, assembly, project management capabilities to handle your needs. The team consistently produces cost effective, quality products that are delivered on time. For more information, visit www.schleifringmedical.com.
