San Jose, CA — May 2020 — JAVAD EMS (JEMS), a leading global EMS company that provides low- to medium-volume, high-mix applications, announces that it has completed another audit of its AQMS system in compliance with AS9100D:2016 with no non-conformances at its facility in Silicon Valley. Since upgrading to the new standard in 2018, which incorporated ISO9001:2015 and AS9100D:2016 into a single standard for auditing purposes, the company has had consecutive surveillance audits that have not identified any NCRs.

According to Greg DelBrocco, Manager of Quality and Compliance, the auditor noted that the “AQMS at JEMS is being maintained and organizational performance is being improved. Strengths and good practices: well-designed AQMS and a well-disciplined organization to follow and adhere to the AQMS.”

It is necessary for AS 9100 to undergo periodic revisions that make it efficient for its users and safe for the consumers using their products. SAE AS 9100D:2016– Quality Management Systems – Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations is the fourth version of the standard, released in September 2016. The primary need for the switch to the updated AS 9100D-2016 standard is its inclusion of the latest revision of the general international standard for quality management system requirements: ISO 9001.

Gary Walker, Vice President of JEMS, stated, “We’re very happy to have consecutive audits without any issues. We build some very challenging products for the Mil-Aerospace industries, and this just confirmed why we have been chosen and how we deliver error free products to them on a consistent basis. To be able to support these needs in a low- to medium-volume high-mix environment says a lot for the quality system we have in place as well as for all the people that work here and investments we have made in equipment and software across our entire factory. As a result, all of our customers, whether they are Mil-Aero or not, get these very high-quality standard builds.”

ISO 9001:2015 was released almost exactly one year prior to the new revision of AS 9100. Important changes to this document include the addition of the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PCDA), a greater emphasis on risk management, and a focus on management responsibility in carrying out the quality management process.

JEMS has more than 40,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space that it continually updates to the highest standards of electronic manufacturing services, communication, client support, employee comfort, and training.
