CRANSTON, RI – Federal Electronics, a leader in providing advanced electronic manufacturing services, is proud to announce that its facility in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico has achieved UL 508A certification, the industry-leading quality and safety standard for the manufacturing of Industrial Control Panels. This prestigious certification, awarded by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), signifies that the facility adheres to the highest standards of design, construction, and safety for industrial control panels, ensuring their reliability and performance in critical applications.

UL 508A is a safety standard specifically designed for industrial control panels, which are used to manage and safeguard electrical systems in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, energy, and medical. To achieve UL 508A certification, Federal Electronics' Hermosillo facility underwent a rigorous evaluation process, ensuring that all panels manufactured at the site meet UL's stringent requirements for construction, performance, and compliance with electrical safety standards. Additionally, the development of a Mexico-based strategic supply chain for custom metal fabrication further enhances the company’s ability to deliver cost effective, turnkey production volumes.

This certification ensures that Federal Electronics' industrial control panels are designed and built with the highest levels of precision and safety. The panels undergo thorough testing, making them ideal for complex industrial, medical, and other high reliability applications where safety and compliance are paramount.

Since its establishment in 2010, Federal Electronics’ Hermosillo facility has been a key hub for delivering cost-effective solutions to OEMs, specializing in high-complexity, highly engineered, and heavily regulated products. The facility, which spans 80,000 square feet and employs over 350 skilled professionals, has been structured to meet the unique production needs of industrial and medical customers located in both the US and Mexico.

As a US-based company with over 60 years of experience, Federal Electronics combines the benefits of its US and Mexico production facilities to offer flexible, high-quality solutions. The company's integrated approach allows it to provide cost advantages while maintaining the high standards expected by its customers.
