TOKYO – Japanese electronics shipments fell 14.6% year-over-year in February to $1.95 billion, the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association said.
It was the fifth straight month sales were lower year-over-year.
Lower demand for vehicles is taking down auto electronics, too, as the sector dropped 44.7% for the month.
The outliers were electronic toll collection system devices, which grew 42%, and color TVs, which were up 13.6%.
