MONTREAL -- The global market for electronics manufacturing services will grow at an 8.5% CAGR through 2014, according to new market research.

The market will hit $519 billion in 2014, up from $321 billion in 2008 and $345 billion in 2009, research firm Electronics.ca Publications said.

Computers and telecommunications have the largest share of the market, generating $207 billion in 2008 and an estimated $225 billion in 2009. This should reach $352 billion in 2014, a CAGR of 9.4%.

Consumer and industrial electronics will grow from $92 billion in 2008 and $96.5 billion in 2009 to $136.7 billion in 2014, a CAGR of 7.2%.

Other segments will grow from $22 billion in 2008 to $23.5 billion in 2009 and $30.3 billion in 2014, a CAGR of 5.2%, the firm said.
