BADEN, SWITZERLAND -- Top 25 EMS provider Enics will shutter two sites in Finland and lay off about 150 workers, according to the company.

Enics issued a press release saying the Vaasa and Jyskä sites in Finland may be shut down, and the company has entered talks with workers about other furloughs or layoffs.

Switzerland-based Enics had sales of about $486 million in 2008. It employs about 500 people in Finland and around 2,500 globally.

President and CEO Reijo Itkonen said, "The market situation requires immediate adaptation. With these measures  we ensure that we will be strong when this recession is over and the economy starts to recover; as we continue to see the potential to grow in our focus areas.”
