ORADEA, ROMANIA -- Plexus' manufacturing facility here is nearly complete and scheduled to come online during the third quarter, company executives said Monday.

On a May 4 conference call, president and chief executive Dean Foate said the plant would be production-capable sometime in the third quarter. Most of the facility is complete, he added, and key management personnel are in place.

The leased 72,000 sq. ft. facility will focus on mid-to low-volume, higher-mix customers.

"We are pursuing a number of opportunities with new and existing customers and we are hopeful that we will secure our first program for this facility during the quarter," Foate said. "We could begin production of the new program within eight to 10 weeks of a customer decision."
