ARLINGTON, VA -- Electronics component orders rose in June to their highest level of the year, according to the monthly index compiled by the Electronic Components Association.

The 12-month average, comparing this year’s results to last year’s, remained level or slightly down.

“This is the first time in approximately a year that the 12-month average and monthly indices have met at the same spot when depicted on our chart,” says Bob Willis, ECA president, in a press release. “This generally indicates that we’ll see some flattening in market trends in the 12-month average, while the ups and downs in the global marketplace will continue to impact the monthly index throughout the year.

“I expect that we’ll see stabilized growth in North America and China over the second half of the year, while Europe and the rest of Asia will remain uncertain,” he said.
