SAN JOSE -- Flextronics has reportedly agreed to the sale of Nortel's wireless technology assets to Ericsson, paving the way for the deal to be finalized.
As previously reported, Flextronics had been a vocal opponent to the beleaguered telecom OEM's planned sale of certain wireless assets to Nokia Siemens Networks.
Ericsson since has overtaken Nokia Siemens as the favorite to win the Nortel assets auction.
As reported by Reuters, Flextronics said in a filing in US Bankruptcy Court in Delaware it will support the proposed sale to Ericsson. Sony-Ericsson, a joint venture, has been one of Flextronics' top customers for several quarters.
Flextronics is a leading supplier to Nortel and has been reported to be among its largest creditors.
