HORTOLANDI, BRAZIL -- Celestica has shuttered its manufacturing operations in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and laid off 200 employees, according to published reports.

The reports quoted site general manager Alex Bruzao, who reportedly said the closures are due to the economic slowdown.

The company had previously indicated it would close several manufacturing locations.

One major customer at the site, EMC, reportedly moved its production from the closed Celestica site to Foxconn. CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY could not verify those reports.
