AUSTIN, TX — Large, non-consumer LCDs shipments were up 41% in the September quarter, compiling their highest sell-through quarter in US commercial distribution history.
The market moved 19% more 26" or greater units than last year, and 41% more than the June quarter, says DisplaySearch.“Sales of professional displays of this kind — typically classified as digital signage displays — are one of the benchmarks used to determine the growth of the digital out-of-home market. Their installation in out-of-home environments helps to create a ‘digital inventory’ where advertisers can sell advertising space,” said a DisplaySearch analyst.
Sony, Vizio, Samsung, LG and Sharp make up the five leading brands, totaling 173,000 of the 205,000 units sold during the quarter.
