ENDICOTT, NY – Contract electronics manufacturer Catalyst Manufacturing Services acquired the electronics assembly division of Harvard Custom Manufacturing, effective today.

The HCM contract assembly factory is in Owego, NY, a town in upstate New York. No financial terms were disclosed.

“Catalyst has a manufacturing location a few miles from the HCM site, which made this an attractive situation for both companies on many levels. HCM’s advanced capabilities in system level assembly, including engineering and test, were of great interest to Catalyst,” said Randall Lainhart, Catalyst executive VP.

HCM, which also has a factory in Salisbury, MD, employed a reported 108 workers at the Owego site.

It is Catalyst's second acquisition in two years; in 2008 it purchased Ramp Industries' assembly operations in nearby Binghamton, NY. The company also has plants Morrisville, NC, and Tijuana.
