NEENAH, WIPlexus Corp. reported fourth-quarter revenue was $556 million, up 41% from a year ago and 3.6% sequentially on broad-based demand.

The figure was just above previous guidance of $530 million to $555 million. Net income was $27 million, up 77% from last year and 9% from the June quarter.

During the fourth quarter, Plexus won 24 new manufacturing programs that are expected to generate approximately $115 million in annualized revenue. Operating margins improved 20 basis points sequentially to 10.1%, led by an 18% upsurge in industrial demand. Every segment grew during the quarter except wireline/networking and defense, the company added.

For the full fiscal year, the electronics manufacturing services company said revenue rose to $2.01 billion, up 25% year-over-year.

The firm expects fiscal first-quarter 2011 revenue of $550 million to $580 million. On a conference call this week with analysts, Plexus said the next two quarters would be impacted by program rampdowns from Avocent and Starent. Still, the company forecast overall sales growth of 15 to 18% year-over-year in fiscal 2011.
