TORONTO Celestica Inc. reported third-quarter revenue of $1.55 billion, nearly flat with the same period of 2009.

GAAP net earnings were $35.4 million, compared to a GAAP net loss of $600,000 for the third quarter of 2009.

Adjusted net earnings for the quarter were $46.3 million, up 4.5% year-over-year.

For the nine months ended Sept. 30, revenue was $4.65 billion, up 5% compared to the same period last year.

GAAP net earnings for the first nine months were $55.2 million, up 131% year-over-year. Adjusted net earnings were $137.7 million, up 26.3% compared to the same period in 2009.

“Celestica's third quarter revenue and inventory were impacted by some demand changes late in the quarter,” said president and CEO Craig Muhlhauser.

“Our fourth quarter outlook reflects strong sequential revenue growth of approximately 15% at the midpoint of our guidance, fueled primarily by recent program wins in our server and consumer end markets and a stable demand forecast for the balance of our customer portfolio.”

For the fourth quarter, the company anticipates revenue to be in the range of $1.7 billion to $1.85 billion.
