TREDEGAR, WALES -- LED lighting OEM PhotonStar LED Group has acquired EMS firm Camtronics Vale in a deal that could be worth up to £375,000. Camtronics had sales of £1.6m. and profit before tax of £20,900 including a one-time £103,573 intercompany loan waiver from its former parent. Excluding the credit from the loan waiver, EBITDA for the year was a loss of £14,367. The deal is expected to be accretive in the first full year.
A contract electronics manufacturing services firm, Camtronics is expected to provide PhotonStar with a larger manufacturing base as it broadens its presence in the LED lighting space.
PhotonStar CEO James McKenzie said, "This acquisition provides us with technical strength and capability in surface mount electronics and reduces planned capital equipment spend.
