PECS, HUNGARY -- Jabil Circuit will open a service center here at the end of next month, staffing it with about 400 former Elcoteq workers, the town mayor said.

Jabil already employs more than 7,000 workers in the country. Elcoteq recently closed its site due to its ongoing bankruptcy.

The center will perform computer and telecom repair.

Jabil employs more than 6,000 workers at an assembly plant in Tiszaujvaros and another 1,100 at a service and logistics center in Szombathely. Revenues from the country were about HUF 276 billion ($1.22 billion) in 2010.
