PARIS -- Asteelflash and Varitron Technologies have entered a strategic partnership to share access to their respective contract assembly sites worldwide.

Under terms of the agreement, Varitron will gain access to all Asteelflash facilities worldwide, to support customers that want to build product outside Canada. Asteelflash, which operates electronics manufacturing services plants in France, the US, Tunisia and China, will gain use of Varitron's site in Quebec.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Asteelflash is a top 20 electronics manufacturing services company, with plants in Europe, North Africa, North America and Asia. It was the CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY EMS Company of the Year in 2010.

In a press release, Asteelflash president and CEO Gilles Benhamou said, "This new partnership will create value for our customers who will be able to rely on a high-quality local electronics manufacturer in Canada, Varitron, while benefiting from the expertise and footprint of an international EMS company like Asteelflash with its global supply chain capabilities and production network which spans four continents."

Varitron operates a 23,000 sq. ft. site in Saint-Hubert, Quebec.
