PARIS -- Asteelflash has acquired fellow EMS firm Catalyst Manufacturing Services for an undisclosed sum.

Catalyst has four plants, two in New York (Endicott and Owego); Morrisville, NC; It has roughly 900 employees, according to the CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY Directory of EMS Companies.

Asteelflash is one of the world's 20 largest EMS companies. It has sites in France, China, the US and Tunisia. It had sales of $780 million in 2011, and projects 2012 revenue will top $900 million, including $400 million in North America.

In August 2010, Catalyst acquired the contract electronics assembly division of Harvard Custom Manufacturing. In 2008 it purchased Ramp Industries' assembly operations in nearby Binghamton, NY.
