NEWBRIDGE, UK -- EMS firm Axiom said first-quarter revenues rose 20% year-over-year to £6.8 million ($10.7 million), a company record.

The contract electronics manufacturing services company, which had sales of £19.7 million last year, expects to set a new company record of £24 million in 2012, boosted by new defense program wins.

Axiom said it plans to create an additional 20 jobs by year-end, bringing employment to about 225 workers.
