REDMOND, WA -- Data I/O this week laid off an undisclosed number of workers in an effort to cut quarterly overhead by $300,000.

The designer and manufacturer of semiconductor memory programming systems said the actions included reductions in personnel and the use of contractors, professionals and consultants, and narrowing the number of projects it is working on.

The company expects to take restructuring charges of approximately $185,000 primarily related to severance.
