HONG KONG -- Bankrupt EMS firm SMT Holdings today named Chuan Wen Liu executive director.

Liu, 43, previously was president of Tsinghua Redbud Holding, and has been with various units of Tsinghua since 2000.
 
Liu replaced Tak Sin (Norman) Chan, who resigned as executive director but remains deputy CFO of the contract electronics assembler.
