ECHT, LIMBURG, THE NETHERLANDS -- Neways Electronics plans to close its factory here, the company said, citing continued volatility in the electronics manufacturing services market and the persistent imbalance in capacity utilization.

All the site's activities, including the entire inventory of machines, will be moved and redistributed to the other Neways operating companies. The EMS company said the move would savings of as much as several million euros annually starting in mid 2013.

The plant was opened in 1981 and specializes in assembly and testing of industrial control electronics. It has annual sales of about 15 million euros ($20.3 million).

The company warned in November that orders were falling at its EMS plants. Neways expects 2012 sales to finish well below 2011 levels and substantially lower  operating results.
