RUGBY, ENGLAND -- Citing poor market conditions, electronics manufacturing services company Stadium Group will shutter its manufacturing facility here and lay off 60 workers.
In a statement on its website, the company said the closing was in response to "prevailing difficult market conditions." The EMS company acquired the 78,000 site from Zirkon in November 2008.
Stadium also operates a factory in China and at its headquarters in Hartlepool, UK. Production will be transferred to those sites.
Just last September, Stadium acquired IGT, a OEM of displays, which it called "the first step in delivering our strategy of expanding into adjacent electronic technologies which complement our existing Power and EMS business."
