BANGKOK -- UMC Electronics, Japan's second largest EMS company, will open a plant outside of Bangkok this fall.

The new 55,000 sq. m campus is UMC's first outside of Japan and China.
 
UMC had sales of $823 million in its fiscal year ended March 2012.
