ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA -- Samsung has reached an agreement with Ethiopia to build a local laptop and printer assembly plant.

Samsung will also assemble TVs and other white goods in the country.

While the plant is expected to be opened by fall, the company has not yet disclosed the degree of assembly that will take place there.

The announcement was made by Robert Ngeru, Samsung's East Africa chief operating officer.
