WASHINGTON, DC -- US factory orders rose 3% sequentially in February on strength in non-military sectors.

Shipments of computers and electronics fell 0.5%, but new orders rose 1.3%. Non-defense aircraft orders rose 95.1%. Defense aircraft increased 7.7%, the US Commerce Department said.
