LOCKEPORT, NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA -- Contract electronics assembler Allendale Electronics has laid off one-third of its workforce after losing a large account, the company said.

The EMS firm cut 12 workers from its staff of 36.

The company was founded in 1973 and moved to its current location in 2008.
