LAGUNA, PHILIPPINES -- Top 30 EMS provider Integrated Micro-Electronics Inc. will focus on opportunities in global growth markets, its chairman told investors at its annual meeting today.

Arthur Tan, IMI president and chief executive, said, "We will look more aggressively for pockets of growth in every region, even as we continue to leverage our presence in China, whose economy is expected to continue growing at a fast rate of more than 8% in 2013. We will also capitalize on the trend of return to regional manufacturing as original equipment manufacturers in North America and Europe aim to lower their total cost of production."

IMI said it plans to leverage the trend of higher electronic content in vehicles, the emerging applications of electronics in industrial and medical industries, developments in LED lighting, and the rise of more sophisticated connectivity devices. It also plans to take advantage of its presence in North America, Europe and Asia.

Through a series of acquisitions and organic growth, IMI's revenues have risen from $79 million in 2002 to $661.8 million in 2012. The electronics manufacturing services company was ranked 29th in the latest CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY Top 50.
