BILLINGSTAD, NORWAY -- Kitron chief executive Jørgen Bredesen will resign from the contract assembler, effective no later than October.

The company indicated it would hire a replacement from outside the company.

Kitron had a tough first quarter, with profits and revenues plunging and no signs of a turnaround.
