OXFORDSHIRE, ENGLAND – Improving efficiency to win new onshore business is the focus of the Smart Group's annual European Conference and Exhibition.

The event will be held Oct. 2-3 in Cornmarket Thame, Oxfordshire, England. The keynote will highlight the Raspberry Pi project, a credit-card sized computer that plugs into a TV and a keyboard. It is designed as a low-cost and fun teaching tool for kids to learn programming. It is also an example of onshore manufacturing, as it is being manufactured in the UK. Speakers will explain how the business was won.

Another keynote will illustrate how academia, government initiatives, funding and facilities are interacting with industry to create a beneficial exchange of ideas and a favorable climate to promote new products for UK producers.

Other conference sessions will address topics from yield improvement to material selection opportunities from new technologies, and developments in improving quality through proper use of the latest failure analysis technology.
