CHRISTCHURCH, NEW ZEALAND -- Tait Communications is contemplating cutting about 10% of its local workforce, according to published reports.

The maker of industrial radio equipment employs some 900 workers worldwide, 700 of whom are in Christchurch.

A decisions regarding the potential cuts is expected by the end of May, the report said.
